Multi-carbed engines made Pontiac’s GTO popular from the start, but for 1967 they were discontinued as General Motors shifted its advertising away from racing or "aggressive driving." The GTO easily adapted to this corporate edict; its standard engine becoming the 400 cid., with a couple higher-powered versions available. Exterior refinements for ’67 included the rear end, which held four lights on each side, and the introduction of Rally II wheels. The muscle car movement was about to reach maximum flex appeal, and the ’67 GTO could bring the brawn with the best of them!
